Tonight APPALSHOP MOVIE FEST begins with Thoughts in the Presence of Fear -Wendell Berry’s response to 9-11 directed by Herb Smith, followed by QUILITING WOMEN–the Applachian women talk about the history of their work and you get a chance to see these women working and talking about their art—and STRANGER WITH A CAMERA the brilliant work of Elizabeth Barret (she will be here in person at Sunday’s screening—an APPALSHOP veteran—please come to hear her story and what this great place in Whitesburg, KY. is doing….this movies is followed by Lily May Ledford a banjo picking woman one of the Coon Creek Girls band. and more and more coming your way…this series is not to be missed…see you at tsl.
