Time
to Talk is an ongoing series
dedicated to the discussion of political, social and environmental
topics, utilizing public forums and video documentaries to
effect change in peoples lives.
TSL
uses its resources as an arts organization to address problems
that are local in origin but that reflect regional and national
concerns. Time to Talk (TTT) is one of TSL’s most successful
and result oriented programs.
TSL is currently presenting The Justice Series. Downsizing Prisons with Michael Jacobson, former Commissioner of the New York City Departments of Correction and Probation, addressed the growing prison population and policy solutions for states to reduce their prison systems.
The Justice Series continued with Know Your Rights and Kids and Courts, which addressed young people and our local courts.
Next in the series will be Public Health and Prisons Ernie Drucker and another Know Your Rights Workshop.
Participants
have included
James Howard Kunstler (Author of The Geography of Nowhere) Marie Wilson (Former President, Ms. Foundation for Women) James
B. Snead (TSL neighbor and WWII African-American
veteran) Daniel Berrigan (Peace activist)
John Heard (Actor/family court critic) Scott
Ritter (Arms inspector in Iraq) Frank Serpico
(Activist) and Rev.Joseph Ben-David (Radical
