In 2001 Linda Mussmann was awarded the Dewitt Clinton Masonic Award for community service.

Albany's alternative newspaper, Metroland, recognized TSL in 2003 as Best Theater Production for H.A.M.L.E.T. and in 2002 and 2001 as Best Film Series, then in 2000 as Best Activist Arts Organization in the region.

In February, 2003, Dan DiNicola profiled Mussmann and Bruce on his weekly feature: "A Story Everywhere" which aired on WRGB-CBS. In 1998, Mussmann and Bruce were named Local Heroes in Metroland for "having used the arts to strengthen the fabric of their community."
