Celebrate TSL's ongoing programs with a summer BBQ with a distinct Cajun flavor. The event will take place at the Spencer-Shimpkin “Circa 1799 Barn” in Ancramdale, New York. There will be Cajun music performed by the legendary Jesse Lege and friends, which is sure to make dancing irresistible. Chef Danyell will be at the grill providing delicious barbeque. This will be an event for the entire family, with a variety of good old-fashioned outdoor fun and activities for children.

The Circa 1799 barn, an immense, 200 year old, lovingly restored barn, is situated on 10 beautiful acres, surrounded by a 300 acre dairy farm.

Jesse Lege is one of the most admired Cajun accordionists and vocalists from Southwest Louisiana. Beginning with Cajun accordian at age 16, Jesse has been playing traditional Cajun music for over 35 years with a variety of bands in various Louisiana dancehalls. He has garnered numerous Cajun French Music Association awards, known as the “Cajun Grammys.”

In addition to Chef Danyell’s summer feast, there will be home made deserts and a cash beer and wine bar.
Last but not least, there will be a raffle for a Sharp Aquos LCD television donated by the Sharp Corporation. It is a 37” LC-37D64U Sharp AQUOS LCD TV.

"The D64's space-saving, elegant design is the slimmest line of big-screen flat-panel TVs - and the thinnest line of AQUOS LCD TVs - ever built. The D64U Series utilizes Sharp’s proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT Panel with multi-pixel technology, providing 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio with Enhanced Picture Contrast Technology and 4ms response time."

We create a place where people of all ages grow and become citizens who can lead and change the world.

We plant trees for the children of today and tomorrow and provide a place and space for their dreams to be realized.

We devote space to cinema so that people can view the magic of movies together and can discuss the process with movie makers from around the world.

We host forums on our stage that give expression to thoughts and ideas that make a difference.

We bring living music via the Met Opera to our community in an effort to expose hearts and minds to the great stories of all time.
