With this production of A.L.I.C.E. in Wonderland, Time & Space Limited celebrates a milestone in its Hudson history. Ten years ago, a little girl's parents began bringing her to TSL to see movies, visit the gallery, and attend theater performances. That girl, Chloe Monahan, is now our Alice and will be making her debut in Linda Mussmann's adaptation of Lewis Carroll's famous story about the thin line between fact and fiction - a thought-provoking subject which rouses all of us to wonder about the land in which we live.
Joining Chloe are TSL veterans Claudia Bruce (Narrator, Caterpillar, Red Queen), Hannah Jarrell (White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, March Hare), and Gerald Stoddard (Mad Hatter and composer). And in a cameo appearance, Connor Monahan (One of the Queen's Cards). Artist in Residence, Jun Maeda, adds to the mix with his unique designs gleaned from over 30 years at La Mama E.T.C., NYC, and throughout the world.
In the 1970s, when Linda Mussmann and Claudia Bruce began collaborating on theatrical performances, TSL was young and the years that followed were filled with the daily practice of making theater: the development of actors' voices and bodies, the study of space and set design, the construction of lighting equipment, set pieces, costumes, the use of visual arts, and the understanding that all of these make up the process which informs everyday living. The ability to apply the lessons of "making theater" to every aspect of life is probably the most important gift that TSL has to offer the community it has embraced since moving to Hudson 13 years ago.
